The Joint Entrance Examination – Main (formerly All India Engineering Entrance Exam) is a national-level, standardised computer-based test used to select students for technical undergraduate courses in engineering, architecture, planning and related fields. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency, an independent federal body that administers the tests. The exam has a score limit of 650.

The cut-off scores are based on the average of three attempts.For students to be eligible for JEE Main, they must have passed a qualifying exam. The exam consists of two parts, the Main Test and the Advanced Test.
